Greg Lawler's Art Fair Sourcebook ratings of the top shows in the country are out and shows are sharing the information on their websites and local press.
#1 - La Quinta Arts Festival - "Last year’s festival did more than $2.5 million sales and attendance increased more than 30 percent." There are 200 artists in the show, so you do the math! Just received two more shows touting their AFSB standings:
The festival, scheduled for May 10-12, received applications from 854 artists in 41 different states competing for one of the 120 spots on Artist Row. The artists selected to participate represent 24 different states and one international artist; 56 of the artists (47 percent) are new to the festival this year.
art sales among the more than 600 artfairs in the U.S. for 2012. For fine craft sales, The Woodlands ranked #12.
“It’s incredible that after only seven years, The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival is one of the top fine art festivals in the country,” said Jenny Wright, festival director.

Other top ranking festivals include: La Quinta Arts Festival, La Quinta, CA (first), Art on the Square, Belleville, IL (second), Cherry Creek Arts Festival, Denver, CO (third), Art in the Pearl, Portland, OR (fourth), Saint Louis Art Fair, St. Louis, MO (fifth) and Plaza Art Fair, Kansas City, MO (sixth).
