Reeds Lake

The show was good for us until the sun drained the energy from the show. We did better than last year however others we spoke to did not have the same experience. Set up was okay for us because of some unique circumstances many others grumbled.Rich

  • No rain ! We did most of the selling when it was cool. As for set up and take down the Wealthy street people seemed to do better. Our spot appeared to a very good one as we could unload from the side walk instead of the street. This also meant we were not on the street and gave others on the street more room and time for set up and take down. For us it was not a "high power" show. However the patrons were interested in the fair and we sold to individuals who came back after the sale to express happiness in their purchase as they returned home. So being to pay bills is great, okay necessary, we both felt gratified that those who purchased our work did so because it made them feel something. What is the difference? An individual walked into our both pointed to an expensive piece and said SOLD! wrote a check and carried it away. The sale was great from a $ view, but the person who came back twice to thank us for $30 purchase,
    enriched our spirit.
  • Good to hear from you, Sherrill. What were the circumstances?

I remember years ago they held this event on the lakefront and you had to haul everything down a steep hill in the morning and up it at night!

    No rain?
