Is Your State a Good Place for You? For Shows?

Loving this interactive map, a mood map of the U.S. Researchers found that even though we are called the United States, there is lots of differentiation from location to location.

You knew that, right? You know the temperature of the Chicago crowd is not the same as the Tempe crowd? Or that Minneapolis doesn't equate to Baltimore ... and that folks always have a good time in Wisconsin?

I think I am missing something. I also believe it depend of the subject matter that you have.

It is interesting to superimpose this map over a Red/Blue political map. Texas always impressed me as being sort of different. LOL

Wyoming is a good place for me to live and any artist for that matter. It's not a good place for shows. In fact, it may be the worst place for shows.

Apparently, I belong in Georgia which is interesting because we thought about moving there briefly, when my son's wife wanted to live closer to her mother and brother in the Gainesville area.  We were looking at Athens...hmm.  I'm pretty happy in S.W. Michigan right now though, lots of stuff going on for artists and artisans here, in fact, it boggles the mind.

Well, Christina, I hadn't taken the test until this morning, and Georgia's where my score moves me as well! I like Athens, but I prefer to stay rural. One year after leaving Artisphere in Greenville, we drove through the north Georgia mountains and loved it. But alas, Wyoming keeps winning since it costs us so little to live here and it's a totally awesome state! Little crime, little population. There are communities in north Georgia that would probably be perfect, or even some near Greenville, SC or those in southern Tennessee (really too mountainous for us, though). The biggest problem with them is they're all southern states, and I don't think we'll ever move back into the south despite them being in ART FAIR CENTRAL.

I hear ya' Barrie...I don't think I could ever live in the south either, mostly because of their politics but also the enormous bugs and snakes...just sayin'.

You got it. And a little more prejudice, I'm sorry to say. I don't mind the politics here in Wyoming, I don't pay much attention to it. Most of it is geared to ranching and rural stuff. We just don't have the big problems facing so many others.

Wyoming sounds wonderful, I can understand why you like it so much...isn't it referred to as "big sky country"? It must be beautiful...

I finally took the test and got --- Georgia! What's up with that? Thinking there was something wrong with the test since the only reported results were also Georgia, I tried it again and chose quite different answers and got W. Virginia. So, I guess it is legit, and know why you and I are friends Tina, and probably Barrie should be part of our gang ;)

Really don't think I belong in Georgia though. I'd also prefer Wyoming.

Ha,ha...that's too funny but proves that we have a lot in common, Connie...and apparently, Barrie too.
