This is a hometown show for me. Of the G'ville shows, this is the best. As is the case in most shows, some folks do well, some, as has been stated don't. Committee is great, and treat artists well. By the way, the show is never held during a home game for the Gators, the city won't allow it.
Traveling from atlanta for this show might be a mistake. Central florida is still reeling economicly. I've been doing it and have made just enough to reapply but i only have a ninety minute drive. Because it's a university town there are a people who are buffered from the economy but it is still hard for most people to do really well there.
I did this show a couple of years ago, unfortunately it wasn't good enough for me to give it another try. It was beautiful weather, they treat you like royalty even delivering a boxed lunch both days, setup & breakdown are super easy, and great crowds, but they just weren't spending any money. I'm a jeweler with price points ranging from 20 to 500 and I've done all three of the big shows in Gainsville, none of them are money makers for me.
