  • Oh, thanks, Jacki. You have been an invaluable support. I could never have kept all these balls in the air without you and your work, I think on all my sites ... and yes, that other part, keep learning. My websites are out of date and I just can't get myself to rebuild them all to look 21st century and I haven't had the time to do all the things I want to do, more videos from the shows, more podcasts, more features on artists to share on ArtFairCalendar.com and in our emails. Oh, and have a life!

Like you Kathleen. I love going to the art fairs and meeting face to face the people I've met online. I have deep roots with Larry Berman and Nels Johnson, but the rest of you ... love to meet them. I don't even want to start listing the names, because I know I'll leave some important person out.

Thanks to everyone for their support.

  • Connie, when I first met you, you didn't have a computer.  Sometime not long after that you got one to print your address labels and to store all your customer's addresses for postcard mailings.  Neither of us grew up with computers and I remember many times you saying "Why do we have to learn how to use this?"  I thought you caught on very fast though.  Every so often I remember you asking me if I looked up the Art Fair Calendar and I'd have to tell you no.  I didn't even know what I would be looking for!  That was back about 1996 - 1997.  Scott sure has taught us both how to do an awful lot of things we didn't even have an inkling about.  Hard to believe over 15,000 people have joined you here since then.  Congratulations!  You have put in a lot of hard work.  Good thing you stuck with it and made yourself learn how to do things that at one time were unimaginable to you.

  • Yes, we met in Fort Wayne, Indiana at a Three Rivers Art Festival.  I was speechless. You thought that I didn't know who you were!  When I meet someone from AFI it's like meeting a celebrity!  And you are welcome.  If someone hadn't commented, how could I have learned?

  • Thanks, Kathleen. It's been great having you as a member here, and I believe we've met face to face. Right? It's like old friends meeting. Your comments over the years have been helpful to 1000's of people. Imagine. I thank you.

  • This is such a fun site!  Helpful, YES!  How else would I have found out about groups of gypsies shoplifting?  Or how to find out about open jurying opportunities? Or what to expect from the promoters, and what is out in left field?  And of course there are the on-line people that I've gotten to know and, in some cases, gotten to meet.  Whenever I meet someone I've known from AFI I feel like I've known them for a much longer than the actual time.

  • Amazing, isn't it, Larry? Thank you for all your help over the years.

And to think I only started this site because my "son made me do it" and wasn't even going to do it until he built it and then wrote his book "E-Riches 2.0" and included the story of the site. I was one of his proof readers and when I realized what he had written I decided I'd better get going and actualize the site before the book was published, six months later.

Thanks to all the members and the amazingly helpful information they posted here over the last nine years. The site took over my life for many years.
