Need a booth critique...

Hi everyone!

I have been doing indoor and outdoor shows for about 3 years nows. While my booth has come a LONG way - I seem to get more compliments on my booth vs. my glass jewelry. Am I doing something wrong? Have any advice you can share. I welcome honest feedback. Thanks so much in advance!!!

I'd like to Dawn, but there are so many issues to overcome - cost being one of the big ones! Set up time, how bulky things are etc are others. To add to my barriers down here in Australia wedon't have access to alot of the show equipment you have in the US.

Grommets in the bottom and tie them to the bottom stay bars on the display.

But even mounted on the foam core, with a little wind, they flop about. I even put weights on them and they still blow around - there HAS TO be a better way! :)

I've photographed booths for a number of jewelers that didn't have tables/table cloths. Aside from the commercially available displays, some jewelers use ProPanels desks as a base for their displays, or make their own folding displays similar to the design of the ProPanels desk.

Another idea is to cut out the middle of the front and sides of each desk and cover it with fabric to make it lighter and easier to transport.

Has anyone gone fully table-less (those of us that sell jewelry that is)? I heard a lot of high end shows require this. Just curious.

It would be great if more people posted photos of their setup - not for us to 'copy' but for inspiration. :)

I also use the L or U for my tables. It allows the customers more room, allows me to easily see and access my displays when needed, and feels better for all concerned.

The photos are mounted on foam core. My banner flopped, so I purchased the foam core and mounted it.

Much better- no more flopping in the wind!

I'm not much of a seamstress so inspired by Ruth's and others suggestions a few months ago I had fitted undercloths made - the woman actually attached ties to the underneath specifically for wind to keep them on - I haven't used the ties yet as its been very light breezes and was going to cut them off. Given your 40+ winds Valarie, that's it, I'm keeping them on!

I would love to get away from fabric completely too, but I guess I don't feel like I do enough shows for that sort of $ investment at the moment.

Your comments are very helpful to me. I just did my first outdoor show, 40+ winds and I couldn't even put my tent sides down, let alone keep my table covers on. You've given me some ideas of what I can do to make my next outdoor presentation a better one, hopefully with less wind, although here in Iowa, it seems to blow most of the time.
