Portage is proud to offer a wonderful weekend venue of juried art showings, wine and cheese tasting, and music, all under one roof.  The Harvest Festival is open to art in all media.  Much as the city itself is a melting pot and crossroads, we wish our show to reflect that milieu. Portage is easily accessible from all areas of Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconsin.

The juried art portion of the festival will be held in air-conditioned comfort of the 9000 square foot Oakwood grand Hall at Woodland Park, and the wine and cheese tasting will be held up an easy flight of stairs in our elegant reception room, Sycamore Hall.  And when we need a break from all the activity, we offer the Magnolia Room, a cozy spot for refreshment and relaxation, with the gentle sounds of live music.

For our artists, we will be hosting an after-hours reception with appetizers and offering of libations and spirits, including the wine from our visiting vintners.  Local dignitaries will be invited to meet and mingle with our artisan guests.

For more than thirty five years the Greater St. Louis Art Association (http://www.gslaa.or) has been providing opportunities for the public to see and purchase original works of fine art and fine craft directly from the artists who create them.

Every year we produce two juried art shows (Spring and Labor Day Weekend).  Artists in all media are encouraged to apply. These shows feature juried local, regional and national artists' original work. From the pool of artists applying, about 120 artists from all over the US and Canada are invited to exhibit. These artists are selected by a professional jury process in eleven distinct media categories.

Both shows are presented in the indoor, air-conditioned setting of the Greensfelder Recreation Complex at Queeny Park in west St. Louis County. Food and refreshments are available on-site, parking for the public and artists is free.  Live music playing during wine tasting and peak attendance.  During Sunday afternoon, an interactive children's art education program encourages families with youngsters to meet and talk with artists and learn about their work.

P.S. The Village of Park Forest was built for the purpose of housing GI's returning from WWII.  Incorporated in 1949, less than 6 years later, it was home to an arts association that operated a gallery, school and art fair.  The arts association was followed a few years later by a symphony orchestra, classical chorale and resident, equity theater company - a very welcoming home for creative people! "Twice as funky as the average fine art show." The Ferndale fair focuses on work that skews a little younger, a little hipper.  While traditional artwork does sell here, this show focuses on less pastoral work.  As many as 40,000 art shoppers attend over the weekend.

Ferndale's vibrant downtown attracts people in their 20's, 30's and 40's.  It is a lively community with varied shopping and exciting clubs and restaurants.  These people have the means to purchase items that appeal to them.

The show is looking for work that challenges the mind, or simply sparks the imagination.  Artwork that does not sit quietly, but invites a reaction.  Overall however, keep in mink, this is a high quality juried fine art show.

The art fair is organized by Mark Loeb of Integrity Shows, a veteran organizer of metro Detroit events. Like all of Integrity Shows events, artists are assured of three year's of participation when accepted.  Why shouldn't you be able to plan your year?

Where is Frankfort? High on a bluff in the heart of Michigan's summer vacationland, the hidden gem of Northern Michigan on Lake Michigan and Betsie Bay.

This very popular northern Michigan Art Fair has been voted one of the top 10 Art Fairs in Michigan! This two-day event provides a variety of artists and food. Visitors specifically look for their favorite artists year after year - We do our best to keep them in their same spot, so they know right where to find them!

The fair is in a beautiful park setting with up to 10,000 people in attendance. It is one of the most popular art fairs in Northern Michigan.  The Chamber also hosts a few other fundraisers that day to help with the cost of putting on a fantastic event like this!

All artists' displays will be arranged on the parking lot of the Crown Valley Winery, the crafters will display on the parking lot of the Crown Valley Brewery.  Shuttles are available to move attendees between the sites.

The Art Fair will be promoted to the entire metropolitan area via billboards, newspaper, and radio advertising, Web sites, posters, stories and interviews in the St. Louis, Southern Missouri and Illinois media areas.

This year we expect 75+ artists and crafters to exhibit at the Art Fair, at both the Winery and Brewery, which we project will be attended by approximately 5,000 visitors.

Artists Amenities and Accommodations:  

• A box lunch will be provided each artist every day.   
• You will receive a voucher for this meal at check in on Friday.   
• A  complimentary artist cocktail party will occur on Friday night at the Winery at 6p.m.

Festival date confusion allows artists ample opportunity to still apply for the show

(COLUMBUS)- Production staff of the Riverfront Art Festival have agreed to extend the exhibitor deadline to June 22 because of confusion regarding the festival dates.

“It has come to my attention that not all of our artists were aware the dates of the festival had changed to September 30-October 2,” said Mike Collins, Riverfront Events President. “To ensure all interested artists have the chance to apply we will extend the exhibitor deadline for two more weeks. This extension will also allow us to account for the greater growth of the festival.”

This year, with greater sponsorship from local, Central Ohio organizations, the Riverfront Art Festival has the opportunity to give more back to its artists. Each accepted exhibitor will be automatically entered into a contest to win a FREE 10x10 booth. The winning artist will be chosen at random and notified the week after the jury process.

“We’re hopeful with the increased support from our partners and additional programming, this will be the best Riverfront Art Festival to date” said Collins.

The Blue Water Fest builds on the rich tradition of the Port Huron to Mackinac Sailboat Race, a Michigan rite of summer since 1925, featuring a spectacular array of sailboats lining the Black and St. Clair Rivers in Port Huron. Thousands of people, sailors and those who wish they were, line the banks of the Black River, Port Huron to view the yachts. This annual tradition attracts spectators to Port Huron for the magnificent display of boats and now it will also anchor a festival of music, food, and fun on the river.
