Can I make a request on blog posts? It would be really helpful if you would tell us the city and state of the art show you're blogging about. I don't have any idea where the XYZ Outdoor Art Show is located. But if you tell me Atlanta GA, I have a much better understanding. Thanks.

Here's the thing about location. I consulted with ZAPP a few years ago and recommended that every place on their web site where the name of a show is listed, it needs to be followed by city and state in parenthesis. Every show, every place, absolutely no exceptions. I recommended first requiring shows to add that to their show information on the page that lists the show where you click to apply.
Besides that, I also recommend writing a script and running it throughout the entire system adding the information. If the script makes mistakes, they will finally understand the misleading information from an artists point of view.
But once the format is in place, there won't be anymore confusion and artists won't waste time trying to figure out if Winter Park is in Florida, Colorado or who knows where...
But as for asking individual artists to do the same thing, some will comply and some won't. That's why it's always easier to ask if the information isn't there.
And then there are the comments about shows where the artist doesn't want to name the show. That's a whole other story.

Jacquelyn you might want to go over some of your show reviews and the titles you gave them. No one is perfect and I don't even try to be. I actually don't have a lot of free time so I am not interested in spending an extra 30 minutes triple checking a review. I know this upsets many of you on this forum so I have stopped writting many reviews. LUCKILY Connie is awesome and tries to fix my spelling and grammer. I am sure this discussion will go on and on, but I am leaving for my hiatus, too hot here. I can't wait to not see or touch a computer for the next month.

Melanie: I thought I was being nice at asking for a reasonable request. I figured that many people just assumed that everyone knows there the show is located ... because they know where it is located. I am not trying to complain. We all forget to put things in our posts. Sometimes we don't realize that we are making it more difficult for others and by making a small change, their post would be more effective. If you take the time to put a post up on the web site, I assume you want people to read it and benefit from your post. All I am asking is help us out, by telling us where you are talking about, in your post. Google is great. But if I Google Artigras, I get the following shows:
Green Bay, WI,
Juniper , FL,
Rochester, NY,
San Luis Obispo, CA,
Leanwood, KS,
Eureka Springs, AR ... and that is just on the first 2 pages of Google.
People who post show reviews put 30 minutes + of their personnel time AND valuable information for free. If you really care then ask, like Larry suggested or look it up. Think about how long that would take you to do compared to how long it took the poster to write the review. I much rather read a good review telling me about set up, break down, crowds, sales, booth space, good place to get a beer, but that is just me. If the poster adds the city and state, great bonus, but if they forget they shouldn't be criticized.
Jeez...Some of you complaining are also guilty of not posting the City and State in your headline when talking about a show. Grammer, spelling, not mentioning the city and state, the complaint list gets longer and longer. Where the heck are the Thank Yous? I know I know, No good deed goes unpunished.
Logical request. ZAPP has a major problem with show listings where artists waste time trying to find the location of shows they see listed and might apply to if they were closer to where they lived or fit their driving schedule.
If the person posting the review doesn't list the location, your best option is to reply with the location question. Second best is to put the name of the show into Google, but that doesn't help anyone else who also wants to know the location.
