I'm receiving a bunch of creative emails from artists promoting online sales and discounts, etc.
Here's the latest from a good email marketer, John Leben:
Subject line: John Leben is having a 20% Off Sale
Content:
The last three of the eight art fairs I was scheduled to exhibit in were cancelled in Florida this past week because of the virus. This sale is to offer you an opportunity to see and buy my work at a discount and to help me recoup some of my losses from those cancellations.
There is more to John's email, but you get the gist of it. Learn more about John and his sale. Btw, this is NOT an advertisement.
What about you? What are you going? Show us your stuff ... (and be careful and safe)

Connie, my FB page is Cynthia Welch Designs
I have not promoted as much in the last couple weeks. I feel really torn about asking people to get out and about, even to do a contact free pick up.
Yep, I agree, Cindy. Grouping is good. Putting things together to help your buyers visualize is sound business. What is the link for your FB page? When you've got it ready show us your website!
I am working on small pieces for the most part, things I can sell for about $20 or less. But I’m planning setting up vignettes to photograph about 3 smalls together to give customers ideas on how to set them up together. This has help in the past to go from no or 1 sale to selling 3 pieces. I am posting these photos on FB and adding these pieces to my long ignored website. I am letting customers know I can ship when it makes sense ... I’m not shipping furniture. Or I’ll arrange pick up/drop off using safe social distancing.
This is a good time for artists to create and build a website for their work if they don't already have one. Websites can be good for sales. Connie has started many threads on this topic. In the search bar put in 'Build a website." There will be several posts for you to check out.
And what about this from Richard Lorenz and T'Louise?
I'm not finding a website page for this ... but they've got lots of links going on ... I know Rick was going to be the poster artist at Cottonwood ...
and how about this from Dolan Geiman?

and here's another good one from Carrie Jacobson:

Finishing up these three. Clients owe me about $6K on two that are sold. Turquoise seat one will be for sale, about $3.5K. One on top of machine is fully paid. My first weekend show is Estes Park, CO Memorial Day weekend. I have cabin/show paid for. My "Plan B" is build trick saddles/straps for sale if shows are cancelled. We will go to Estes and use cabin even if no show. Local businesses need the income. Booth fee will be donated to arts organization producing show. Playing by ear for four other shows in June, July, August and September. Taking a hit but not going under.
