Ok, so this is a shameless plug for my decision to upgrade from an EZ up but too cheap or lazy to go with a Light Dome, etal.
King Canopy Goliath. Super heavy duty aluminum frame, easily several times better than EZ up. Same weight though. $380 at Sams Club online, including sides. Fantastic customer service, replacement components very inexpensive - top, $95. Sides, $40. Bag (great clamshell) $50. I even broke my bag, not defective, and they sent me a free one, all I did was send pics. This thing has been in 60 mph winds in the past 2.5 years, over 100 shows, and the frame is still in new condition. Just replaced the top, and bought a second one. I will never buy another square leg canopy, this has hexagonal, reinforced 2" legs. the crossmembers are easily 4x larger than EZ up.
Just sharing to help, no, King Canopy did not ask or pay me to do this.
Another great find for us is Coleman's 5 gallon collapsible water jugs. fill them with water, and you have 40lb weights, that take up very little space in the truck and weigh nothing! 5 years and never had a problem getting water at a show.

thanks ...
i am not yet ready for new tent, however I am going to take your suggestion for King when I am ... here's a question ... I have EZ ups...i HATE the bags... I see in the King Canopy ad, that their bag opens totally differently and I would love one of these and would be willing to pay the replacement price. the question is ... is it the same size as the EZ up bag.. in the pictures it sort of looks like the tent legs are folded smaller than with an EZup http://www.kingcanopy.com/pc_product_detail.asp?key=C303D6BC4622441...
The poles I saw didn't require any drilling. They were poles that came from orange safety flags that go on the back of a bick. You take off the flag and just stick them in your roof from the corner to the center.
My EZ up has never had any problems with water. Although one of the zippers on the sides is broke now. It's had a lot of use.
It was something that I picked up at the local sporting goods store, Gander Mountain, but I have seen it other places, may be able to get it at a hardware store. It is a clear seam sealer. I haven't tried an over all treatment.
The top is pretty good as far as being water repellant goes. I do have some leakage on the sides especially if it is touching something. Someone told me about the pool noodles this weekend, so I haven't tried them or the fiberglass poles.
3M / Scotchgard makes a few. Clear Silicone Waterproofing spray.
What do you to waterproof it with?
Larry Berman
At least as water-resistant as the EZUP. Heavier fabric.
What is your experience with rain? Comments on the Sam's site indicated that the tent leaked from the roof and sides. While an EZ UP isn't waterproof, the heavy fabric handles rain pretty well.
