I just got the announcement from the Disney Masters Art Festival. The jury fee is $40. I sent them this reply:
"I wanted to tell you, as an artist who has done your show in the past and won several top awards this year, I will no longer apply to shows that charge more than $35 for a jury fee."
I only mentioned the awards because Disney requires their artists to have won at least a 3rd. place award in the last 3 years to apply.

I just saw one where the jury fee was $40 - $85. Are they nuts????!!!!!!!!!
Well done you all (I am confused as to just how many artists have jumped on your train at this point)! I haven't won any awards in awhile, so I won't be applying to this show anyway, but the one show whose jury fee was $45. that I applied to last year will hear from me this year.

I'm already doing it so it's $105.
Everyone does not have to hold firm, just enough to hurt their bottom line. If you join me, that's $70 they missed out on. Can we add anyone else?
Maybe, but there is always someone out there to take your place. If everyone held firm to the $35 limit it would work
I got a reply from the Disney people right away (unlike Mr. King of Des Moines, whom I still have no answer). The reply is as follows:
Good Afternoon R.C.,
We are disappointed that we won’t have the opportunity to jury your work this year. Our registration fee has remained unchanged for several years, and we feel it’s competitive with other fine art shows. We hope that you’ll reconsider and apply to the 2013 Festival of the Masters
