  • Thanks for that info, Carol. I know the Art Guild was having economic woes of its own this winter but the good news is that the Park District has come in with funds and a partnership  which should result in some new initiatives to keep the show strong and growing. That is such great news when the city gets behind a show because they know of its economic value to the area.

  • This is a really good show.  They take very good care of the artists and they have an art-aware community.  Last year -- the day before the show -- the Caterpillar company, the area's largest employer, did an adjustment and a big lay-off.  I know it affected sales.  Don't know how that will affect this year's show.  I did reasonably well, but not what I had been expecting, and I blamed it on that.  It's a great location and a great organization, though.
