The show winds around the pond and runs adjacent to the log cabin.  Artists are encouraged to get out of the tent and create installations that enhance their work and interact with the natural beauty of the park.

The "entertainment" is metal working, glass blowing and additional demon- strations.  Patrons are invited to get their hands dirty.  All of this helps to contribute to appreciation and sales.

  • Significant paid advertising and news coverage
  • Easy drive up unloading

  • Sounds lovely, let's hope for great weather and great attendance!

  • oh you caught me (LOL) demons tritons? Yes, Mark always puts together a solid event and can't wait to see those demons also.

I have written this on my calendar and do hope to be in Detroit that weekend. Last year he had a killer gala on Saturday night hosted by the Mayor's wife there in the park. I would have loved to have been there.

We used to live very near this park and spent bunch of time there, as well did the show in the "good old days." Mark has solid connections with the local community group who want this show to succeed and to bring back this cultural event to their neighborhood.

If you're not from Detroit -- this is a huge city park, at least one mile along Woodward (the main drag of the city) and then deep into the city to the west. It is in the heart of a rejuvenating neighborhood with lovely large Tudor homes where people have a lot of "pride in ownership." We're all pulling for this show to show its stuff.

  • Sounds wonderful!  Are we still planning to go, Connie?  I'm especially looking forward to those demons and their strations...ha!  Sounds like a great kick-off to summer shows, can't wait!
