I am a newbie to the art fair business and am in need of a photographer in the Houston Tx. area who is familiar with the Zapp process.

  • Larry, sounds like you came through for John and judging by the photos on your website I imagine you did a dynamite job.

  • Actually John sent me his images today and I worked on them and uploaded them to ZAPP so he could hit a deadline this week. He is a painter.

  • Well, in my category I really had to go with someone who can photograph jewelry.  Maybe different for other medium.

  • John, I used the method as seen in the link below to build my own light box and take all my own photos of my pottery. It works pretty well. Most computers with any sort of microsoft tools for picture editing have the ability to crop / size pictures to the Zapp specifications. You can't photograph your booth in the light box but it shows you how a little searching around on the internet can yield some inexpensive DIY results.

  • John, any descent commercial photographer will take a look at the photo requirements from Zapp and be able to help you. If they can't, something is wrong. Photoshop is a standard tool in the industry and Zapp's photo specifications are no mystery to someone using that program. I would venture to say that you have scores of people in Houston capable of helping you. Most people in graphic design firms or ad agencies work with photographers and could send you in the right direction to find one suitable for your needs. I imagine you will find quite a range of costs. Good luck.

  • One of the best art photographers in Texas is Steve Beasley in Dallas.

  • John, I also live in Houston.  There is no one here that I know of who can handle Zapp photos.  I use Larry Sanders in Milwaukee.  I send my work to him, he shoots it and sends it back on a CD.  He also uploads my photos to Zapp and JAS.

    I highly recommend Larry!

  • They photograph their own booth. I work with many artists walking them through taking a good booth picture and send it to me for post processing. I prefer to see the first picture while the booth is set up so I can call and possibly recommend better placement of objects and better camera angle.

  • Larry, how do you photography someone's booth if you aren't in there area.  Just wondering.  I know you help a lot of people.  I was just wondering how you do it.

  • Why does it have to be the Houston area. I work with artists all over the country.
