About the Arts Festival Conference
The fifth annual Arts Festival Conference – presented by ZAPP® – convenes Monday, October 7, and Tuesday, October 8, 2013, in Louisville, Kentucky. This year's event takes place at the gorgeous historic  Seelbach Hilton Louisville hotel, immediately following the  St. James Court Art Show.

The 2013 Conference presents a fantastic opportunity to meet other artists and art fair professionals, enjoy the St. James Court Art Show and conference receptions, learn more about best practices and resources for the art festival field, take advantage of portfolio review opportunities, strengthen the art fair community, and experience lovely Louisville!

On August 27 we will post a survey here at AFI and let everyone vote on the person who they most thinks deserves to receive the free pass.

P.S. See last year's entrants to inspire your entry: http://www.artfairinsiders.com/profiles/blogs/who-should-win-the-pass-to-the-zapp-conference-vote-for-3

  • It was posted. Honest. The winner was Amy Welborn of Crestwood, KY -- she had 80 votes! Must have marshalled all of her online contacts, as a person was limited to one vote.

  • I never saw a winner posted either.  Who won?

  • Has a winner been selected as yet? Just Curious.

  • Thank you Connie, I voted!.    ;D

  • Well, I am embarrassed again! I thought the contest closed Sunday night -- but after seeing this I saw I closed it a day early. So now -- I am "extending" the deadline until Sept. 3 at midnight. My apologies.

  • I guess survey is closed now, although I thought it was until midnight tonight eastern, which would be a couple more hours I'm thinking!

  • Go on Connie Mettlers blog it is there you have to go down a few posts, but it is there!

  • Haven't been able to find the survey on homepage?? yes, tired from Event yesterday, but, am I the only one who can't find? please help!

  • What about Asheville, NC Events? I understand they are really into art in western NC.

  • I've been a professional artist for 6 years and I still don't know a good fine arts festival! There are a few in NC, not close though. My great Ohio native and artist friend Kim Bilek tells me the wonders of a true fine art festival and it makes me wonder what I'm missing here! I would enjoy the opportunity to learn more about this competitive part of being a professional. Most of the fairs I've been a vendor at were very festival-like, not a fine art atmosphere at all. It gets very discouraging when you don't do well, but I've learned the venue is very important in the outcome and to keep trying. Atleast the small festivals get me connections if money is slim. Getting to Kentucky would be a stretch, I'm busy painting my arm off right now for a big project, but I'm still dreaming what I'm missing here in the backwoods of NC.
