First show ever

2008 at a small local venue. It increased from there to full day and two day festivals in Sept - November at parks, city blocks, and indoor televised venues. Most notable is invite-only Roy's Folks Craft Fair and the Asheboro Fall festival.

What are the best things about art fairs

Exposure. Many venues in my area at least don't offer much in the way of sales, but at fairs you meet art admirers and fans that could one day be a customer. You gain connections with fair organizers that can advance your show experience and insight.

Best show ever and why

Roy's Folks Craft Fair. Invite only (you have to be aired on TV for entry), this craft fair is exclusive to find artists and is sponsored by the WFMY news team. They have excellent indoor locations a week before Thanksgiving and are accommodating with space and set up. Best income in a fair I've ever had and I plan to attend every year.

Worst show ever and why

There are several, but for different reasons. Don't attend a festival that caters to kids. Fine art is not for children's venues. Festivals with food vendors, the visitors don't focus on art. That's pretty much all my area has in the way of venues.

What is one fun fact about yourself?

I love animals and nature and I strive to capture their likeness in as much realism as I can. I'm a quirky nature nerd and lovin' it!
