Big round of applause for Connie, Lisa and Jon who produced one my best shows of the year. The crowds were immense, but better yet, they were well educated, enthusiastic and ready to buy. At one point there were so many people, they had to shut down the entrances to allow some of the congestion to flow through~good problem to have. Although it's not really a first year show, it's AB&E's first year in Royal Oak, MI. I know the directors took some flak for moving it, but it was the right decision and kudos to them for taking the chance and making it a huge success! Royal Oak was welcoming and excited to have us, and both Dennis and I were very pleased at the warm response from the public. The volunteers were awesome, and worked their little patooties off to give us breaks and help out with any issue that arrived.
Truly pleased with the whole experience~can't wait until next year!

  • Dear Connie,
What an incredible job you and your staff accomplished in organizing AB&E in downtown Royal Oak, MI. Michael and I were overwhelmed by the success we experienced and the receptivity not only to our work, but to the art of many, many others. There was electricity in the air beginning Friday and continuing throughout the show....Those who attended were having a good time and they were buying the work of many artists... as well as enjoying the entertainment and food.....What a great combination. I cannot express adequately what an excellent job everyone did who worked the show..from you and Lisa, to volunteers who stood in looooong lines to bring food to the artists, to the patrons and to the merchants in Royal Oak....a joyous weekend.
PS: We are well aware that not ALL artists had this same experience of good sales....we have been on that side of the coin many, many times.... The personal touch you and Lisa and your staff bring to the show make Arts Beats and Eats a winner no matter what! Thank you!!!!!!!
  • Thanks, Connie...the naysayers will surely feel differently about this event next year. I was very impressed with how the merchants treated us as well..in Pontiac there was always a kind of negative, put-upon attitude, but in Royal Oak they were glad to see us...
  • It's always a pleasure to see you and Dennis, Clair. Your booth looked great and Dennis' is always classy. Thanks for hanging in with us in Pontiac and welcome to the new ABE Royal Oak! We knew it would work, but were there ever naysayers! Well, that battle is won.
