Texas News -- Art Fair moving in Dallas

Fair Park in Dallas is a huge place. For several years, many years ago, we made the trek to Dallas to take part in what was then called the Dallas 500. It has changed hands a couple of times and names and locations.

Now it seems there is another event CityArts that has been going on in another location is moving to Fair Park and encompassing the 500. Sounds like an excellent strategic move to me.

Read all about it here: City Arts Festival to Move to Fair Park

What do you think? Is this a good idea? Will it reinvigorate the event or water it down? Has anyone done this show recently?

  • Hey Connie, I did this show last year and I think I even posted about it on here. I'm a little nervous about the move since the location has always been so great (right in the heart of Dallas skyscrapers and the arts area). The booths are set up along the art museum trail and the Meyerson Symphony Center which always drew a crowd for the free shows on the weekends. I heard they had to move because the Meyerson and DMA didn't want to support CityArts anymore (as in have free shows etc). I'm not sure if that's true or not. I did apply for this year and am hoping the crowd just moves to Fair Park. It could be a great move. Dallas is due a great art festival. I hope it's this one.
