Hi all ~
I just got off the phone with Ellen Marshall, the wife of Nels Johnson. Nels had open heart surgery today- more work had to be done than expected...a QUADRUPLE bypass, instead of a single- a mitro valve replacement, instead of a repair, and an additional repair on another valve. Of course, this means more recuperation time for our trooper, Nels. And this means more down time for Ellen, as well. He has clearly been given another chance at a healthy future with this surgery- although it is hard to see the forest through the trees right now for both of them. Ellen thanks everyone for your prayers and healing thoughts. Bob and I will post more good news as we receive it.

Hard to imagine Nels did that full winter show schedule this past winter with all this going on. Thanks Patti for that update and a speedy recovery to you Nels.

So, I'm thinkin', no one is leaving the hospital tomorrow to drive to Uptown?
I have a friend who is a surgeon, in fact, who had the same operation some years back. He felt so good after the surgery that he was out dancing two weeks later. He needed crutches to hold him up, maybe because of all the drugs he had to take, but, he felt wonderful and his face was full of color. I expect something similar for our good friend Nelsy.

Sending Nels lots of positive thoughts for a good recovery. Looking forward to seeing the tough guy back on the circuit with lots of VVV (Vim Vigor and Vitality).
