Need help on a new booth!

Help! I am in my 17th year and it could be my last. I had an easy up to begin with then went to a Flourish Trimline. I am completely happy with it and would recommend it BUT. I am nearing 70 and because of all my arthritis , bone spur, pulled muscle health problems, I just can't see another year of this. Is there a good replacement like a folding ez up that has stabilizers that I could use? 4 days at Ann Arbor with the grueling set up and take down has done me in. I would still like to extend by years because I love to do this. If I had to quit my glass and metal jewelry would build up because I couldn't stop creating. HELP!

  • We love our UnderCover.  Sets up similarly to an EZUp, but has aluminum legs and no bendable support bars that get broken.  I'm 67 and can set this up and take it down by myself. (I greatly prefer to have help, though:).

  • We have both EZUp and Trimline. One we use for one day shows if no wind or bad weather. Trimline for 2-3 day shows. I am 53 and could not get the Trimline up by myself. My fingers have trouble pushing in the the little buttons. Go figure. But will agree the Trimline is an awesome canopy. Hope you find something that works for you!

  • Larry, very helpful to know this! Thank you

  • Wow, Alisa, what a great idea!!

  • I had an EZ UP for years and found it was just as labor intensive as my Trimline, actually I think the Trimline is easier and sturdier.

  • An artist friend of mine told me she places an ad on Craigslist in show cities to get labor help with setting up and breaking down her tent. She's had great success with this. She pays $20 an hour.
  • I use a Trimline and feel it is the best BUT call Flourish as I believe they sell mesh walls for EZ Up tents and stabars for the EZ Up tents to go with the mesh walls.

Also, I spoke to an older woman vendor next to me at a show this June.  She told me about a group called Labor Ready that she has hired a couple times to help her with set up and break down.  You might google this and see if you can find them in areas where you are doing shows.  She has tried them a couple times and been happy with them.  I have no personal experience with them so I cannot comment on that.

  • Light Domes are lighter than Trimlines and have significantly fewer parts. The are designed symmetrical and the parts are interchangeable from side to side except for awning zippers.

  • Light domes are as heavy as a Trimline. I'll look into the ones you suggested Robert. Thanks
  • ..interesting! I wonder if any artists out there have used them yet, and what they have to say about them...
