The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival

Tickets are $10, or $15 for a weekend pass
200 fine artists and fine craftsmen

The 7th Annual Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival returns to the visually stunning setting of The Woodlands Waterway in The Woodlands, just north of Houston, Texas. Produced by The Woodlands Waterway Arts Council Inc., in alliance with community partners, the WWAF raises funds for the Council's non-profit mission to provide regional cultural enrichment opportunities that encourage, support and promote the performing and visual arts.

This award winning two-day celebration of the arts attracts art patrons and tourists from across the nation. Featuring 200 juried fine art and fine craft artists from 36 different states and 3 countries along with performing arts, delicious food, wine tasting and an "Art of Food" Chef demonstration tent to complement your experience.

Still considered a 'new' show among the artists in the Texas spring circuit, the festival has quickly earned a stellar reputation in artist care as well as in art sales. Eric Lee, invited 2012 fine artist in our show told us recently:

This will be my fifth year at The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival, and like the community that hosts it, it just feels right. The festival staff, volunteers and patrons all appreciate the art and the artists that create it. A wonderful show. Woodlands

More than 16,000 people attended last year's festival. The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival is ranked among the Top 100 Art Festivals in the U.S. by Art Fair Source Book.

Rated #4  Fine Art Fair in the Country by Art FairSourcebook!!

Art hours:
Friday - 11 am to 9 pm Sat.-Sun. 11 am-9 pm
Monday 11 am to 5 pm

This popular metro Detroit event returns to downtown Royal Oak. You have got to be there to enjoy this last celebration of summer. This is not an overwhelming art fair that will exhaust you but a select group or artists, both local and national, chosen from over 600 applicants. More than fifty of them have never participated in this art fair, so you can expect many new faces as well as your favorites.

Who'll you find:

Get a sneak preview right here of the artists.

My tips on how to enjoy this event:
  1. Friday morning join the Royal Oak Marching Band as they open the show
  2. Explore the juried fine art show before the best art is gone
  3. Take your kids to perform in the Children's area
  4. Eat at your favorite Detroit area restaurant outpost
  5. Enjoy Saturday night dancing in the streets at the R & B Jazz stage with Thornetta Davis
  6. Back to the Art to see who won the prizes and take your own "prize" home with you
  7. Close out the weekend  with George Clinton and the Parliament Funkadelic at the Main Stage

ABEEleven stages focusing on local talent as well as national acts like Vince Gill, Bret Michaels, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, the Jill Jack Band, Alexander Zonjic,  and my own personal favorite the fabulous Thornetta Davis on Saturday night!

With nearly 70 restaurants, caterers and dining attractions (a 25 percent increase over last year) the "Eats" will be showcasing and offering great food and tastes throughout the weekend including Detroit favorites Olga's Kitchen, Holiday Market, Gayle's Chocolates, OM Cafe and don't miss Andre's Louisiana Seafood Sandwich Shop. You'll think you are in Cajun country.

All the details, maps, parking info:

This is a serious "destination" event. Will I see you there?
