Las Olas II - a Howard Alan event

This is called "II" because there is another event in January. It's held on Las Olas Blvd., in an area of restaurants and expensive shops. Set-up begins at 5 AM Saturday morning, but runs smoothly because there are numerous associates directing traffic. The weather was perfect, high 70s and sunny. The crowds showed up, and bought. We had a lot of people from our mailing list and many new patrons. It was our best Las Olas ever. We're looking forward to doing it again. I would add some photos to this post, but I cannot find the little camera thingy that allows me to do so. If someone points out to me, I will edit and add photos later.

  • We actually did about equally on both days. It's like every art show, hard to predict. This one has been predictably good for us for many years. Always enjoy doing it!
  • Ruth nailed it: Saturday excelled in everything but sales, Sunday soared. It's like a memo goes out.....

  • Geoff - One photographer near me had a very slow show and one photographer near me had a very good show. It seemed to be the usual: some artists did great, some did okay, some did not. I'm still searching for the photo icon, don't see the "link" either. But I'm doing all this on my iPhone, maybe that's the problem.
  • We had a very weird Las Olas.  Saturday had great weather, good crowds and almost no sales.  It was my worst Las Olas day ever.  Most of my neighbors were having the very same experience and none of us could figure it out.  Sunday brought the same weather, the same crowd, and excellent sales.  WHY????

  • Travis, the photo thingy is the second icon from the left (just to the right of the "LINK" icon). Do you have any idea how anyone else did?
