Britt has it :-) The shows held on the grounds of a mall or indoors are a tough gig as the mall is the destination rather than the artists. HA may get it to work, and he certainly has the experience to pull it off. I've only had a couple of mall shows work well for me and those are years in the past. Once it was indoors and once outdoors but it was the same mall, Old Orchard in Skokie (?). Both times it was the same organizer, a local art league. Other organizers at the same mall bombed for me. Other mall shows just didn't work for me, but I've been next to other artists who had the right work and did okay.
You're right, though when I think of a mall I usually think an indoor shopping center with the booths inside, which I'm thinking is what Robert was referring to.
This is not a "mall show" -- right? It is an outdoor street festival I believe. I have to say, Alison, these link of shows looks good and I know you believe in maximizing profit by keeping expenses low. Hope it works for everyone.
I am going to give it a try. I haven't done great there under Paragon but I haven't done awful. I do live fairly close and it is a well off area.
"Mall shows are tough". Heh, I've got enough scars from those to convince me not to try them again. Maybe HA can pull a rabbit out of his hat with this one, but I'll pass on this one as it's too far and total costs are too high for me to try.
