  • Looks good Oscar.  And, yep... I really need to back mine up.  Also, just a note, the one thing I learned this week (spent the last couple weeks totally updating my site) is that it is important to test in different browsers.  I was using internet explorer when I was building it and all looked fine.  Then I viewed in Google Chrome and because some elements were in layers some things were "funky" like all my bottom nav bars which weren't there because I reversed them out on a grey background (it was suppressing the grey).  That meant changing all pages!  I have a greater appreciation for all the programmers, designers, and copywriters I worked with in corp.  It was a lot easier to develop the strategy and then hand it off to them!

  • I build my sites on my local machine and push them to the hosting server. I have a copy on two different machines, and sync them about once a year. But there's always a current copy of the live site on my local machine, since that's where it originates. FTP is a wonderful thing.

  • I ask them to upgrade the sitebuilder so I can have a back up in Mac at Home.

  • Three weeks back

  • I also found out that homestead can restore the website up to weeks back. I just need them to contact them. The good thing was that I was starting to hate my website and gave a chance to redo the website to a cleaner and simpler look. I still debating between adding a page for new work and old work that I do not show at the shows anymore.

  • It means that archive.org has made a copy of some pages of your web site eleven times.

  • Larry what does mean

http://lpstudios.net has been crawled 11 times going all the way back to May 17, 2008.

A crawl can be a duplicate of the last one. It happens about 25% of the time across 420,000,000 websites.

  • I am aware of the show schedule page. That what started this screw up.

  • I was doing the updates at work and did not panic because I knew have a backup at home. When I got home I found that did not have one at all. I also need to purchase and new external hard drive because now that start using digital camera I will run out of space in my computer. I also need to set up a back up in the cloud.

I was f.... ppp.... of myself last night. Can not believe I was so dumb or careless

  • Hi Oscar,

I guess it's too much to ask if you had a backup on your computer. Or contact the hosting company and see if they can publish a backup.

Everyone needs a local backup of their web site. What if the hosting company goes out of business, or the server crashes.

Sometimes web site backups can be found at http://archive.org.
