I'm going to raise the Pinterest question again, just because I'm still not sure about what I'm supposed to be doing with it. I admit that when I have some free time, I like to look at my "boards" and those of others for inspiration but I'm really curious as to what you, my fellow artists, are doing there...are you promoting your own work? Does it help?
I understand that it's possible to lure browsers to your own web and Etsy sites, is that correct? Has this proven beneficial to anyone? Although I like the concept, I find it's been very difficult to explain it to my husband who doesn't seem to grasp that it's really like a digital scrapbook / bulletin board / idea file. He's just not there yet...
So, while we're waiting for acceptance and/or rejection, how about some reflection on the pros and cons of Pinterest? I'd love to hear what you think...

I occasionally collect ideas on Pinterest. I forget it's there half the time. I used to have a big folder of color theory ideas but I threw them out last year because I made a board on Pinterest. Things I used to keep and use for inspiration I just make a board for now...less junk.
I would also like more discussions on Pinterest. Does anyone actually make any sales from it? I have boards and use it for searching out different things. It's a great help for visuals but do people actually shop from there?
I use Pinterest pretty much everyday. I use it to find inspiration, business tips etc. As for my own work on pinterest I have a board of all of my art linking back to my website. I also use it to pin my blog posts. If you join a group or pin party it helps because the more people re-pin your pins, the more searchable your pins become. It's just one small piece of social media and because it's visual, like Instagram, I think it is beneficial for artists to use it.
