My nick name "erninator" came from an over-confident 18 year old Karate student laying down on the mat at my feet during Karate class. He learned a couple valuable lessons - "I'm not Bruce Lee" and "50 year olds are to be taken seriously".

Welcome to Art Fair Insiders, Ernie.  I'm pleased to see you here and look forward to having you as part of our community.

When you have a chance, please stop by the "Discussions" area to introduce yourself to the rest of us. We all look forward to your participation here. Also, visit the "member map" and add your location. We have a lot to offer one another, experienced and newbie alike. Let's make this a dynamic site!

Many topics have already been discussed here before you joined us. You might like to try a search of your topic before you post your question. Just put your topic, canopy tents, jurying fees, Ann Arbor Art Fair, etc, into the search bar at the top of the right side of the page. You might be surprised that someone has already asked your question.

We also ask that all new members take a few moments of their time to read the code of conduct. You will find it at http://www.artfairinsiders.com/page/code-of-conduct. There are a few guidelines that all members will need to follow because , as in any social community, we all need to work together.

Best wishes, Connie Mettler

p.s. The best way to make this system easy to use is to click on the "Follow-Email me" link at the bottom of each Forum discussion that interests you. That way the system will email you automatically whenever anyone responds. It's a great time-saver.

Thats a great way to start Ernie.
I did Jay and Lynn Contway's shows for years, Geat Falls is a good market for western/wildlife art.
Good luck in your future shows!

Hello, Ernie. Thanks a million for your comment on my page. Get well soon, friend! My wife and I will investigate that Ft. Benton, MT show. We're also considering Sweat Pea Festival in Bozeman for the first weekend in August, but it costs a bit more than the Ft. Benton event. Still looks pretty good. There aren't many like Ft. Benton offering lower fees like that. We haven't been in that area of Montana for a long time and look forward to it.

Thanks again and god speed. Warm regards, Barrie

I've heard good things about Boseman, too. The one in Billings is one to avoid according to the locals. Ft. Benton was so much fun. It's like driving into the 60's, with whole familys enjoying the fair together. Didn't see many kids with phones in their faces. Parade of mostly vintage cars went right past our tent with hay wagons carrying members of each graduating class since the 50's. The park is where the Steamboats docked on the Missouri River. Lots of historic stuff and next to the museum. The former mayor bought one of my paintings and invited us back.
