A navy blue with gold edges swallowtail butterfly cane into my garden this summer...I change the colours of my subjects, to blur reality...I sketched from life that day, & later used my sketch in the oil painting...Though the butterfly, t far left, now looks to me more like a turtle...I like turtles too, so that's ok...
