Hello! This weekend I'm doing CoolArt, an sort of outdoor art show taken indoors. 75 juried artists, in the usual 10x10 spaces, but inside with AC. No music, no food - so hopefully those attending will be there for, you know... art.
I've been looking at all of the show in Florida and in Michigan and am wondering how long does it take usually to get a response on getting into a show. I've noticed that there are a lot of days with multiple shows on them. I don't want to apply to
Hi there - I am posting this in the "newbies" section because I'm not sure where else to post...and I think maybe it shows that I'm a newbie to be asking this question; I'm sure more experienced people may have seen this before, but I just don't get
Hi, I'm a painter and would like to find a reliable, high quality, and affordable company to print digital images for me to make greeting cards. I spoke to a couple of artists who said they just had a local printer do it. However, I was wondering i
This is obviously a late report, but since I hadn’t seen one yet on the Talbot Street Art Fair, I decided to go ahead and throw in my 2 cents on it. It was held in Indianapolis on June 11 and 12, 2011.
My foray into framed work is going well. Many positive remarks from the browsers. Fewer sales, of course. But enough encouraging remarks to continue. Now I'm wondering about how to photograph it for jury. Do you include the whole package, frame, mat
I've been so excited about the idea of doing art fairs, sitting with my work and meeting people interested in art, networking, learning from other artists and HOPEFULLY making money.
For weeks I've been combing this wonderful, fascinating site to r
A couple weeks ago I received an email from a chiropractor in the area who just opened a new office. (I seem to recall this same person also approached me at an art fair in the fall and "convinced" me she would be back the next day with her husband
Periodically we have flare ups on this site where the discussion and comments get a little heated. My usual advice is to "step back from your keyboard", think for a minute or more and read the posting literally. A little thinking and reading between
Last winter member Peggy Furlin suggested that it would be good to be able to identify other artists out on the road and said that maybe a "Red Dot" bumper sticker would help us find one another. We made them, we've been passing them out to members o
Well I'm going to do first fair this weekend at the Geneva Fine Art Fair. Is anyone else going?
I'll be with the emerging artists. I'm not sure how it'll work because the wall will be smaller than originally described and my paintings are quite large
Hi, I'm Steve Randolph and I recently joined this site/community for artists. I've only entered one show before - seven years ago - a juried show but not a fair per se. Since then I've been painting off and on as my avocation, and have recently dec
Headed down to Glencoe Il, for this show at the end of the month. Just curious if anyone has done this one before? I think it will be good! Getting excited for it.
I just got accepted into Georgetown Art in the Square (In it's third year). I have noticed a couple of bad reviews on this site, especially comments on traffic. The promoter used to be with Bayou City in Houston, and seems to be well respected. My
This weekend we lucked out and after searching for used panels for the last 8 months-we found a gently used set of pro panels on Craigslist! woo hoo!...with the exception of two problems:
-They are pine green- not what we were hoping (we are both p
Realizing I was lacking a formal introduction, my name is Tiffany and I'm what I would call a quilted altered art handbag designer. I design my handbags out of fabrics that are second hand or would otherwise be discarded. I love to revamp vintage tab
Just found a new feature on the latest update to Square for the iPad. If you are using the item feature you can now enter multiple sizes of your item/print with a separate price for each. When you are entering a sale, pick the item and you get a popu
