I was thinking of some kind of metallic transition edge commonly sold at hardware stores to dress up the edge of my carpet for aesthetics and to eliminate the trip hazard.

It could be secured to asphalt or concrete with a tapcon screw

Is there a better/quicker solution to flooring?

  • Jack, don't think you will be allowed to use a tapcon screw. Some festivals require carpeting and/or temporary flooring inside tents be securely taped, on all sides, to the ground with a strong tape such as duct tape.

Maybe someone else has other ideas.

    • so a Hilti gun is out of the question? :)

I guess it stands to reason that 150 tents putting 10 screws each into asphalt and concrete wouldn't do the streets one bit of good

In any case, further thought would demand securing every edge of the flooring so the wind can't get underneath it.

      thanks, gents.

  • Some shows frown upon screwing into the street. Duct tape might be a better option. Actually no matter how you do it, keep a roll of duct tape on hand.
