"Great report Brian. You hit all the major points.
Although I have done this show only twice (2018 and 2019) this year's sales were much different than last year's sales. What was a 5K show for me in 2018 turned into…"
"I want to thank you for answering my question of "why the change". I can appreciate your business decision. And if you are open to tweaking, here is a suggestion.
When in the applying to shows field, there is a "more event…"
"I'm not enamored with Zapps changes. I totally don't get the calendar. I would like to hear why they found it necessary to make the changes that they did.
However Mark, you can sort for show dates and show deadlines. Go to…"
"For me, defining buy/sell is pretty straight forward. The "purported artist" purchases the items and resells them under the guise of "being the artist". This is no more than smoke and mirror retail.
I take equal…"
"Kris, you have asked questions to which there are no definitive answers. Every artist, medium and show is different. You could sell well at a show one year and return the next to sell next to nothing. There is no predictable rhyme or reason to…"
"For what it's worth, I do not include tax in my pricing. However, when running a credit card I do make sure that the buyer understands/confirms the total they will see on their cc statement. In other words, I point out the tax I am…"
Welcome to Art Fair Insiders! As a fellow fiber artist, I'd love to know more about what you do...I'm a knitter/felter who makes women's hats and handbags, etc. This is a wonderful site for meeting other artists and learning about the Art Fair business. Thanks for joining us and best of luck to you.
Well, we're glad to have you, Jeri. I've always been attracted to weaving and had a belt loom back in the day...what kinds of things do you weave? Wraps, scarves, rugs? You should download (upload?) some photos to your site if you haven't already.
Welcome to Art Fair Insiders, Jeri. Thank you for joining us. I hope you’ll find the site helpful and that you’ll share ideas and ask questions. The site is only as good as the participants make it. We have a lot to offer one another, experienced and newbie alike.
When you have a chance, please add a photo of yourself and stop by the "Discussions" area to introduce yourself to the rest of us. Visit the "member map" and add your location.
Many topics have already been discussed. We suggest you try a search of your topic before you post your question. Click the SEARCH tab at the top of the page and “search” for your topic: tents, jury fees, Ann Arbor Art Fair, the name of a show, etc. You might be surprised that someone has already asked your question.
We also ask all new members to take a few moments to read our code of conduct. Here it is, under the Discussions tab. These are the guidelines that all members need to follow to keep the community useful and helpful to all.
Each of us is unique and has a gift to share that can help someone else. We all look forward to your sharing on ArtFairInsiders.com.
Best wishes, Connie Mettler
p.s. The best way to make this system easy to use is to click on the "Follow-Email me" link at the bottom of each Forum discussion that interests you. That way the system will email you automatically whenever anyone responds. It's a great time-saver.
My name is Raoul, and I'm writing to you about a comment you left on Crosby Art Festival. You mention not wanting to be out in the sunny, (yeah, I can feel you on that) or off in what you describe as an "Island". May I ask you what your booth number was, and, perhaps, where these islands are located.
I'm thinking of doing this show and would appreciate any information that you could offer.
