  Yes, that's exactly what I meant. Maybe I should have titled it better. I think many people don't look at creating art as a job that might have to pay the bills.

  Geri, I think what Lori was getting at is all that time that went into creating a piece of art work has to be figured into the cost of the piece.  Many patrons don't realized you can't just charge them for the supplies but also for all the time that went into it.  It is kind of like a new pill.  You pay for the research that went into creating it.
