Transit Van Outfitting

I am considering purchasing a 2017 Ford Transit 250 Van. I have seen a number of them and I am trying to figure out how to outfit it to carry Panels, Tent, and Watercolor paintings, If any one has pictures of how they outfitted their van I would like to see them so I could get some ideas.

Thanks Wallace and Lu Fuller

  • I would suggest going to some shows during set up and breakdown and check out the different build outs from artists.  Everyone is usually excited to show off their buildout.  I know a lot of us have had to change our initial build outs over time learning what we need.  Each of us have different needs.

  • Unfortunately, there is no artwork in here, but, let me tell you 1/2 the load is set up.

  • Thank you, Paul and Wallace. This is an impressive set-up. I'm in my second year doing shows and working out my transportation system. Using my SUV and a friend's car, cardboard boxes and plastic bags. I'm thinking of a trailer for the equipment, to cut down on the loading and unloading work.

  • Wallace, first, the the biggest thing you can. Next get a decent impact driver, self-tapping screws and a bunch of L brackets, oh and 2x3, 2x2 and 2x4's. Also, ride around in the sucker for a while. There is no center console so be ready to adapt it to make it fit. When you purchase also, take note of the sliding door. Believe it or not, they often fail to the point where dealers are telling buyers to open the passenger door before closing so the air can escape. We have already spent an extra $1K just getting the door to work. Otherwise, they are great.
