Has anyone done any of the winter/spring shows at The Villages in Central Florida? I participated in one in July (crazy hot - sales poor) but was told by other vendors and show staff to not judge the shows there by that particular one, which was way off. I'll be doing another one in September (with much higher hopes), but am wondering about either a February or March one. You have to apply months and months ahead. This venue was highly recommended to me by other vendors, so just want to get the opinion of the others that have some experience with them before I make my decision.

Interesting. Finny and Laura havent made any previous comments on this site and are now writing glowing reviews for Howard Alans Villages shows. Maybe Im just a bit jaded lately about art show promoters 'sending' people to comment on their shows in here. I must say I am skeptical now.

I live in Palm Coast which is an hour and a half from The Villages. I am always excited to do shows there. They are always good for me.
Patricia, you go ahead and apply! February is the best month for shows...everyone is back by then and the kids come for the nice warmer weather! ready to buy!
Thank you so much for all of these responses. It's great to hear from all sides. Laura and Finny, question for you... I'm considering applying for the February show. That month is slow up here in North Florida (still cold) so I thought I'd give it a try. Thoughts?
I have been doing the Howard Allen/American Craft Endeavors show at the Villages for years now. For me they have only been better in the last few years. I would tell anyone to try them. Perhaps there are some products that sell better than others. I always have very good shows at the Villages with ACE. I think everyone needs to try these shows for themselves in order to make a determination. I know the Jan. and Sept. shows are slower, but I have still made money at theses shows and would do them again, knowing full well that the shows during " the season " will be even better.
I have been part of the Villages shows for many years and have had very good sales at the HAE shows at the Villages...If I'm not at a show my customers call and want to know why I'm not there! no matter how many shows they go to! I'm a high end Jeweler, they appreciate quality! I highly reccomend doing the Villages!
