Bob and I want to give everyone a "heads up" about a new, exciting gated art show that will be coming to the banks of the" Flats "area in Cleveland, Ohio- as part of the Riverside Entertainment District! The show is named the Flats Festival of the Arts  and the dates are Aug 19-21, 2016. The show will have well know director Scott Huntley (Columbus Fine Arts Festival) and will be backed by a National real estate developer and a major Regional advertising agency. The show will be listed on Zapp next week. See you there!

  • Thanks,Connie:)))))

  • Patti and Linda, Britt Hallowell wrote a lengthy review of the show afterwards. You can find it and much more information at this link: http://www.artfairinsiders.com/profiles/blogs/flats-festival-of-the...

  • Hi Linda- We had a great show but some did not- now that the dust has cleared and some improvements have been made, we hear that Howard Alan Events will be taking over the helm of this ship for next summer...no gate, no evening hours, nor music or food vendors. I say you should apply ...www.artfestival.com

  • How did the Flats show go?? I heard from an artist at Winterfair that he had a great show, any other info?????

  • The application is now on Zapp- deadline 4/1.

  • Thanks Trisha for responding! Scott was hired for this festival to bring the east bank of the flats back to a cool place for art savvy people to purchase art while they live their lives in a upscale area! Now that he has a contract he can talk about it and add it to Zapp!
  • Thanks for sharing this Patti!  Scott mentioned the idea of a downtown Cleveland art show when we were at the Columbus open jury last year and we are so excited to hear it is happening.  For those who have not been to downtown CLE and the flats area... it is really booming now.

  • Oh Connie, this show will be very different! this is a brand new riverside development with upscale condos and restaurants- the flats died for the last 15 years- it used to be the place to go for dinner and bars- now for the last year, a resurgence of the area has been happening...we know the large developer and advertising agency very well...and Scott Huntley is perfect as the director of the show!
  • Thanks for the heads up, Patti. That is a pretty good date ... a fair number of years ago Harvey Feinberg and George Kozman from the Cain Park Art Festival tried doing a show there also. Jon Witz, from Arts, Beats & Eats in Royal Oak also dealt with the people there trying to get a show going. Maybe the third time is a charm!
