Tampatourdeclay

I just visited a great event on Saturday-the Tampa Tourdeclay which featured 6 studios with 20 Florida potters and their guest potters. Fun, food, music, shoptalk and sales were present as I went from each studio visiting with the potters with their unique styles and ways of marketing their work. Had a great time and enjoyed the comraderie. The event is a yearly feature of the Florida Westcoast Ceramic Society. www.tampatourdeclay.com

  • Ann and I went to the party at San Antonio Pottery and it was a great time.  We have been going there for years and have enjoyed it very much.   It's the last stop on the tour and is close enough for us to reach.  Jack Boyle, the owner, advises getting there promptly at six before the food runs out, but people kept bringing in stuff the whole time.   There was plenty of beer and wine which made the live performances all the more enjoyable.   This is something worth looking into because in addition to the nice party it's a great opportunity to finish out your Christmas list just in time to avoid overnight shipping charges.  All stops in the tour have stuff for sale and refreshments.  I'd recommend putting Tour de Clay on your calender for December 2011.  Then google it for the locations and times.
