Ok all you hand made artists. I am kind of new on here, and definatly new on the East Coast. Live in NC and willing to travel to do shows about a 400 mile radius.

Back in Arizona I knew the shows to do on the West Coast. Here I am lost. I do all hand made jewelry and home decor out of fossil and stone, both the lapidary and silversmithing. Prices range from 55 to 450. Looking for shows for the summer and will work Fla in the winter. Small shows or large, but prefer fine art/fine craft or high end craft shows. Help! what shows should I do? There are pics in my profile.

  • http://www.EventLister.com/ has just about every event you can imagine, and almost all are reviewed (that's how one gets to extend membership). If you don't mind an archaic interface, filter your searches for what you want, I'm certain you'll find more than you'll need there.
  • Berkshire Art Festival over July 4th weekend in Great Barrington by Richard Rothbard can be very good depending as usual on the weather. His Sarasota first weekend in Dec has great potential. Craft Producers have two good shows in Stowe, VT Summer and early Oct. Also have an up and coming show in Syracuse, NY first of December. There's always Sugarloaf but I personally will not do their shows. Too many exhibitors and you usually have to do some of their crappy shows to do the few good ones. However many people swear by their shows. Artfair Sourcebook is also a good guide to show anywhere. Bethesda, MD has a good show along the river except for the fact that you have to cart everything in and out. Am trying a new show in Annapolis in three weeks. Will post a review after that show.

  • Check out the Ronay Guide, http://www.artscraftsshowbusiness.com, www.festivalnet.com, and of course dept of tourism sites within your show radius that offer calender of events. These are the ones I use. There are quite a few artists who do shows up and down the SE region keep your eyes and ears open to ones they are doing and will be doing to find leads. Good luck!
