I'll be travelling down to Florida from Michigan in March to do Gasparilla, then Winter Park in the middle of the month. I've just been invited to do Mainsail in St. Pete in April. And I might consider Melbourne the following week-end. I'd have to park my car and trailer for a month between Winter Park and Mainsail. I'd fly back to Michigan for the month. I'm wondering if its worth it. I've never done Mainsail and I'm curious about what others think of this long-running show. It has big prize money and seems to attract local St. Pete and Tampa clientele instead of snowbirds. I've done well at Winter Park and I could use another strong show like that. Any opinions?

I live in Tampa and I can tell you that weather is usually a factor at this show, bad storms have plauged it the last few years. I've not done the show in a couple of years but it was good when I did it.
Thanks, Connie. You may be right. Juggling cars, trailers and airplanes might not be worth it for Mainsail. I'll probably see you in a couple weeks at the Garage Sale art show in Kalamazoo. Doesn't look like I could make it on Friday for your pizza party. I'll be setting up on Saturday morning.
Can't help you on the Mainsail question, John, but have been waiting to see what you decided about this winter's shows in Florida. Sounds like you've made a good decision on your choice of shows.
Really, I don't think you're going to find another show as strong as Winter Park, or even in that ballpark.
Yes, Jacki, I was disappointed in the South Florida shows last year, so I applied to three in the center, Gasparilla, Vero Beach and Winter Park. Didn't get an invitation to Vero Beach. I also applied to Mainsail and Melbourne. I'm trying to get a feel for Mainsail. Seems like it could be a good show... one that the local residents support. Those are the shows I do best in.
John, it looks like you have scaled back on your Florida shows this year. I hope these are all good shows for you.
I haven't done Mainsail for 3 years but it was good when I did it. One of my higher grossing shows. Setup and breakdown was fairly easy. Spaces are pretty tight.
