  • Hi Steve- no I did not do Boulder Pearl St.... I think it's not my kind of show. I talked to quite alot of friends who did do it- with mexed results. I do Downtown Denver Arts Festival and Cherry Creek (last year) which are both great for me. I am prepared for anything (as we all must be) at Sedona. Have you done it?
  • julie did you do the boulder pearl st. show and how was it. good luck in sedona have jewelry friends that do it and do ok.
  • Thanks, Marina. Sausalito is too far for me to drive- but I'd love to do it some time. I used to live in the Bay Area. Now, I live in Boulder...next show is Sedona in October. Hope to see you next year in PC! Your work is just beautiful.
  • Was at the park city show as well. I did ok, about what i expected. the thing i liked about the show was how easy it was to setup and teardown. i am used to wheeling my booth out but this year was a breeze. the crowds were big, down from the year before. Lot of people walking around with nothing in their hands. I have been at this for over 20 years and look for that. It did rain on Sat and a little on Sunday but did not keep the crowds down. My booth was pretty crowded most of the time. Overall i like doing that show when i can get in. Yes was waitlisted. I also stayed at the resort in the picture but got a big condo for 56.00 a night thru the internet
  • Thank you, Connie! Yes, the bottom photo is the ski resort, Westgate, where we stayed. Good hiking trails there. Julie, I love your jewelry (nice website also!). Hope to see you and your art at some future show. Sausalito maybe?
  • We just finished the Howard Alan show week after Kimball show, a number of artists in the Alan show have done the Kimball show and said it is really a great show.
  • Marina, thanks for the great photos and posts. I was exhibiting there too and had a fantastic show. I stayed down in the flats at Prospector in a big condo for $69 a night- close enough for a little walk. I thought set-up and break-down were handled extremely well and of course, we had wonderful weather. Glad you had a good show. I was doing it alone, so I hardly got out of my booth to see others work- so I'm sorry I didnt meet you! - Julie Powell
  • 11:43 pm, Park City, tucked into our $39 per night very nice room after 7-10pm initial setup, finish tomorrow morning, we have a great spot exposing 3 walls for our Raku wall work, this new Howard Alan show is in the largest Mall in the area, great setting, lots of folks have seemed to come in for the weekend, we'll see and report more later.
  • Excellent photos, Marina -- they really tell the story. I've heard about this event for years but never got this much information. Glad you did well and that this audience can appreciate your fine etchings.

What is the bottom photo? The ski resort?
  • I love Park City and I am always glad to do this show. Usually we stay in PC for 2-3 additional days before or after the show to do some hiking. It was my 4th year at this show, so we(my husband & I) have some experience for set-up that is not very easy because street is narrow and it is a hill(you have to level booth also). Tents are back to back, no storage. Set up is on Friday and it starts early at the morning , everybody has own time for check in in Deer Valley where you wait and then drive to your booth in downtown. There you have 1 h to unload. Everything is organized very well, and people from Art Center are very nice. Show opens on Friday night, 6pm-9pm. Big crowds all 3 days, but I am not sure that people are able to see the whole show, they have to walk each side of the street, the show is big and it is a hill. Customers are well educated, many locals, but many tourists too. My sales were good, many returned customers (we do mailing list). One neighbor (watercolor) was very happy with his sales, another neighbor (acrylic)not so happy. Friends (pottery )complained about low sales. So it was different for different artists, as usually.
