Holiday Art Show St Augustine

Just wanted to Thank Lynn Wettach, of Holiday Art Shows, for my space at the Jan 1/2 show in St Augustine. I won a space with her through Art Fair Insiders, and I gotta tell you, I would love to work with her again!

LARGE spaces, plenty of back space, quad set-ups, so everyone had corner space. Super easy set-up and break down. Friendly staff, nice coffee and breakfast for the artists.

Lynn made sure to stop by each artist to say hello and make sure things were good.

I say , give this show a try, lots of fine art at this show , with really good advertising.

  • I hate I missed it.  I was signed up and paid for the Jan show, but I had to cancel last minute. The Spring show conflicts with Fairhope for me as well.  I love visiting St Augustine!  Maybe next time.

How was the winter show sales-wise?

  • Hi Kevin,

At the March show, the weather was okay.  Sales for us in pottery were less than average compared to what we often sell, but we would definitely return.  Our sales are often quite good and here it was a function of smaller crowds.  It's hard to compare between artists because each of us has a different idea of what  a good sales return is and our idea is much higher than many artists I've met, but if you have what people want, the St. Augustine show goers were willing to spend money at least in the $40 to $140 range.  I can't speak for higher priced items or two dimensional art.

  • Nobody does it better than Lynn, which is because she is an artist too; she gets it. But it would be helpful to know if you did well at the show? Were artists selling? I know the weather really worked against you.

  • Yes to all the comments about  Lynn, location, set-up, everything was positive, delightful really. We did the March show last year, not the Jan. show and the only reason we're not applying this year is that it conflicts with a longstanding bigger show Fairhope AL that we do well at.  I wish there were no conflicts because we'd love to work with Lynn again.  Although there wasn't a lot of traffic at the spring show, people bought and St. Augustine is the oldest city in the nation, lots of history, charm and a great place to combine work with pleasure, even if you stay one extra day.  As artists, this is the kind of show we want to grow with.  It's got "good bones." I hope in the future, there are no conflicts with dates and we can apply again.
