I was invited to jury for the Guild. I was interested in the Ann Arbor show so I submitted images and was accepted. I was given a year and a half free membership because they really liked my work. I was told I would receive an e-mail in January to allow me to apply to the show. I never received it.
Susan, are you sure you didn't misunderstand something here? As a longtime dues-paying member of the Guild, I have never heard of someone being given a free membership - I think a lot of members would have a strenuous objection to this!
There was probably a boo-boo. Perhaps they were having issues sending you an email - the email wasn't working at the time or it might have found your spam box. This has happened to me a couple of times. Do call them, I am sure it will be fixed.
Ditto on Richard's advice. I am sure the Guild would want to hear from you. Do not hesitate to call them. This is an organization of artists, for artists -- membership is taken seriously as a service to the members.
