Happy holidays to artists everywhere ...

Not sure where you are, but I'm visiting my sons and their families in the LA area. Not sure what you do on a vacation, but what to my wondering eye should appear but white tents on the horizon! Faster than blazes we approached and I spied a name of an AFI member I'd never met, leatherworker Joann Page! and it is her birthday! Happy birthday to Joann and we both send happy holiday wishes and to all of our friends in Art Fair Land. (We're both nearly 40 year veterans of this business so we know a lot of you.)

  • I am actually in Lancaster - an hour north of los angeles.  I go to the burbank pasadena often so driving is not an issue unless you had planned to go to the Antelope Valley to visit the Airpark?

  • Just how close are we, Stella? I've been traveling from Tustin to Burbank, Pasadena, Playa Vista, Newport Beach, Carson, Costa Mesa and finally got to the Watts Towers this week. Which turned out to be fortuitous since tomorrow they are closing for 3-4 years for maintenance. Have I passed by where you live? My children have lived in CA for 20 years so this is a like a commuter trip for me -- maybe 50 trips over the years.

  • You are in Los Angeles?  Wow, so close!  Hope you are having lots of fun.  If you would like to meet up, let me know!

  • We are freezing up here in Michigan -   it is 11 degrees but feels like -4 degrees.  We enjoyed a nice Zingermans Beigli that my friend sent me for Christmas morning.  Kids and their dogs are rolling in and we are trying to stay warm.

Hope it is much warmer there and you are having a great time.

  • Hope you and Jean stay nice and warm, Dick. It sounds very cozy at your place and you escaped the dangerous driving. Storms happening near my home in Michigan, I'm glad to be out of them temporarily. Happy holidays.

  • We went across the mountains yesterday, Friday,  to daughter's family & grandkids between snow storms. We had sunshine and dry roads. It's a mess out there today with 4-12" new snow and winds up to 60 mph. I-70 closed both ways due to accidents, slide offs, and icy roads. It's 22 degrees in Parachute, CO but warm, cozy and planning spring vegetable & flower gardens.
