Can anyone out there recommend good shows in July and August in Florida, Georgia or South Carolina? I make things out of wine bottle corks. You may visit my facebook page to view some of my work.
Hi Connie, I to have not contributed or asked AFI for any info in a long time, you and a few others who express themselves on here are so well versed and expressive that I take a back seat and let the pros do the writing. Although there is something I would like to share as one of the little guys. Last weekend I did the Downtown Delray Beach Festival of the Arts show, my low end pieces that normally sold at most shows did not sell at this one. One high end piece sold twice, my only sale, maybe because I put a sold sticker on the piece, everybody wants what someone else wants. I told them to make it up again I could make it in the colors and size they prefer. The only other time I did this was a Bonita Springs show where one piece sold four times over, an $11000. show, the only thing that sold. With three hundred artist, somewhat overwhelming, if something stands out that gives them an incentive then maybe there's a chance.
What did you expect a new member to do? Of course being new to your site I ask a questions. I am not new to the arts and crafts world. I know how it works and have always shared my knowledge with anyone who asks. This is the way it should work. If you would like to see my work you can go to my facebook pag. I think you will find what I do is fairly unique thought out the southeast. Of course there are people who make trivets and coaster type crafts. I have not found anyone who even comes close to what I do. If your site is not sharing or helping a fellow then I have joined the wrong group. I an visit my facebook page under Unique Cork Creations if you would like to see what I do. I have always shared or helped anyone in this business who as ask.

How this site works:
We are all working hard. When new members who have never contributed anything to the site come in and ask a question, similar to Bob's, there is little, if any, response. Here's the deal. Do you ask a stranger to share their proprietary information without making a contribution or developing a relationship?
This site only thrives on reciprocity. You ask a question, you give feedback, you share your experiences, you are helpful to someone else, you don't only take away, you give us context.
How about if you tell a little about your background. Your work, the reason you are asking the question. Maybe you are a beginner --- then you troll the site to see what you can find. LOTS!
AFI is a gold mine of useful info. I believe that question has been reworked on many levels. Geez, who hasn't reported on shows in all those areas. Can you do the work to find out for yourself? Yep, I know good shows those months in those areas. Am I going to take 15 minutes out of my day to tell you about them? Are you a friend of mine? What will you give me in exchange for this VERY helpful information that can save you lots of $$$ ...
Members burn out helping others who do not turn around and share right back. Do you like this site? Has it taught you anything? Do you want it to remain a source of up to date info? Then tell us something ... share ... my favorite word: RECIPROCITY.

Sorry, Bob. Don't know what got into me yesterday.
Love to have your input about shows you have done. Do you have any favorites in those areas? What is your favorite? Just between us.

Not to be picking Bob, but I think you all know what I'm talking about.
Hope it stops raining in Florida.
