Im doing a show in Oaks pa this weekend and heading back to NH on Monday. Normally I would take 78 to 287. When driving down to the show on Wed. I could not find gas for miles around the Morristown NJ area. Driving on a 1/4 tank I found a gas station 20 miles, in Flemington NJ and waited over an hour. I understand the gas crisses is much worse now and people are crossing the NJ boarder to PA to find gas. So with that Im going to go head up to Scranton Pa from Oaks and cut over to 84 East to Conn. If you live near the Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre area can you tell me how the situation is there. I figure that would be a fill up point and should be able to make it to Mass from there. Obiously I will be filling up here in oaks before heading out. no problems here.
Thanks.

Thanks everyone. Made it home with no issues other than having to buy premium since regular was out. I got gas on 84.
I am in the Wilkes Barre Scranton area. There is no problem with gas here. Are you coming up the Pa turnpike to 81 then 84?If so get gas in the Wilkes Barre Scranton area.I am not sure about on 84.There are some areas without power in the Poconos. But you should be fine.
Folks, in case the situation doesn't resolve itself by this weekend or (shudder) next, put gasbuddy.com on your GPS-enabled phone. It will show you local stations and prices.
I'm in Easton Pa near Allentown and drove through Bucks Co. yesterday. Gas stations have opened and as of last night no lines, so you could do 78. Its ok here.
How did the show go? Did shoppers come out for it?
Yes the show is on. Oaks is a good distance from NY/NJ and there was none to little effects where the show is. But I did call the show before making the drive.
Good luck on your search for gas, David. So, will the art show go on as planned before the hurricane. I hope you don't do all that traveling only to find out the show was canceled. I hear the people in New York City were pretty upset that the Mayor was going to run off the New York City Marathon as planned. It was canceled late today. Goof luck and I hope some of our Pennsylvanian AFI members can give you some info.
