Downtown Boulder Fall Fest Art Show

I've been accepted for the Downtown Boulder Fall Fest Art Show which is Sept 22 and 23rd.  I live in Minneapolis so it's a 1000 mile trip each way so it's got to be a  pretty good show for that effort. I can't find any reviews of the show. Does anyone know anything about it? The deadline for me accepting their invitation is Aug 27.

Thanks,

Marc L.

  • You can expect lots of people but it seems the focus is on the festival more so than on the art show. There is live music, lots of food and drink, which seems to be what the people are there for. But, who knows, maybe the more people drink the looser their wallets will be?  Just kidding. I spoke with several of the artists on the last day of the July show and got various reactions from "Not so good" to "I traveled several hundred miles and I made a profit". So, I guess it all depends on what you are selling. If it is something people are looking for you could do quite well.

  • I've only done the July show, but a friend has done the fall show.  She prefers the the July show as well, despite the 100+ temperatures.  Said she wouldn't do the fall show again - too much of a community festival atmosphere - but I know that Open Arts has made some changes to both of their shows this year.  She does mixed media, mostly resin work, and she lives about 30 minutes from Boulder. We both agree that the booths on the mall itself are the better spots if you can afford the extra $$ to get one.  Good luck!
