This is my second year doing shows. I am based in the Milwaukee area. I have decided to branch out and try some shows in Door County this year. However, now that I have gotten into a few of them, I am stumped at figuring out where to stay economically. Does anyone have any ideas? I may end up borrowing a tent and camping for $20/night, even though that seems like a bit more trouble than just sleeping in my car in the Walmart parking lot for free. Unfortunately, these art shows all fall on holidays where the motel rates are higher to begin with.

I use priceline all the time, however they only have a few in sturgeon bay, I was still hoping for a cheaper option. I wish there was a way to find others who are booking rooms for the show and maybe share with someone...

Thanks. I am doing Bailey's Harbor on July 4th and again in Sept. I am doing Jacksonport Maifest. Pretty much anywhere in Door County will be convenient enough for me to stay.
You didn't say where in Door Country your shows are. I did the Sturgeon Bay show a couple of years ago which is held on Memorial Day weekend, and stayed in the Super 8 that's right in Sturgeon Bay. It wasn't super expensive and was really nice. It's kind of centrally located so it might work for some other shows you are doing.
