  • I forgot to say that we've also purchased 3 rapid chargers so the generators can charge overnight.

  • Hi Ken,

If you check out Ray's work at www.zovar.com, you'll see a full array of LED lighted sculptures. We run approximately 16 pieces at a time and charge cell phones for 10 hours on three lithium battery chargers. They are all Goal Zero Yetis, which have one of the highest ratings of lithium battery generators. We have (1) 1500, (1) 1000, and (1) 500 watt units. We have purchased these directly from Goal Zero and have gotten the refurbished ones for about the price of the wattage. (1000 watts = $1000) If the show is longer than 10 hours in a day, we have to shut off some of the pieces a couple hours before the show is over so as to have some still lighted in the 11th hour. Yes, we have to remove these heavy generators every night, recharge them at the hotel and bring them back but that's little bother in the scope of things.

  • Still thinking about it.  I appreciate your comments.  I need a coupon!

  • I didn''t even know those existed, Ken, until I saw your post. They look great. Lithium battery. Nice handle. A lot of hookups. Just took a glance at the middle offering and it looks strong enough to power your iights and charge your phone easily.

I've been using a deep cell marine battery. Cheaper by comparison, but I also need to set up an inverter. And it's super heavy. More than 5x as heavy as that Explorer 500. That's huge! If you get one, let me know how it works!
