Christmas Made in the South Augusta, GA. This is my first experience with this promoter and I must say they have been great to work with. I will be doing Augusta, GA, Savannah, GA, and Charleston, SC. Since I had no experience with this show I really did no know what to expect and the Friday open was pretty slow and somewhat disappointing. Speaking with several exhibitors who do have experience with this show it seems that Augusta is the slowest of all the Made in the South shows. Everyone seems hopeful that today will bring better attendance and more sales.
Saturday was another very good day here in Greensboro, NC. Attendance was very good and was heaviest from around 11:15 to about 4:00. Sales were steady with buyers looking to spend. Today's hours are 11:00 to 5:00 hoping for another good day.
Today's has been completely non-stop up until about an hour ago. I am so ready for closing time and dinner. I hope the next two days are just the same.
Well... After a couple of days stuck in Savannah with mechanical
Problems and $2,000 in repairs I am finally in Greensboro all set up and ready for greenback Friday! I just love walking into the Colliseum in Greensboro. The Gilmores really know how to make a Holiday event festive. From the icicle Lights that encompass all the back drops to the huge balloon Christmas trees it is very evident the pride they take in putting on a first class show. I am really looking forward to this weekend.
Christmas made in the South in Savannah has been much better than the one in Augusta. It has been a much larger crowd and many more people willing to buy. It has been a decent weekend but still not the crowd I was expecting.
I do all of my show tours by myself and the hostess system for these shows is somewhat hit and miss. You sign up when you check-in but you don't schedule times. They just kind of show up or not. The last me that came in did not want to sell but just watch the booth?
Next weekend i will be at the Craftsmen Classic in Greensboro, NC. Always a great show.
Sorry for the delay in updating. I have been slaving away at the sewing machine in my motel room. Augusta just did not bring in the crowd I was hoping for. Even with all the advertising the Hunts did it ended up being pretty slow. I came out OK but it was not the outcome I was anticipating.
I am currently in Savannah and the attendance is up considerably over Augusta.
Maryliss Wolfgang stopped by and introduced herself while setting up on Thursday. It is always a pleasure to meet others from AFI.
I will update on Savannah next week between sewing and cutting.
Next weekend, Greensboro for the Craftsmen Classic!
Hope it went well. Recently a frequent commentator on this site told me he didn't want to talk about a show that didn't go well for him on this site, then he changed his mind, did a fair report and it led to lots of good discussion. Love to hear your take on this.

Seems like this must be your busy season, Rich. Back to back weekends for the foreseeable future? Lovely time to be in the South.

Still waiting for some news here, Rich!

Yes inquiring minds want to know. How was it?
Well, how did it all end up for you there? Were there shoppers? How were your sales?
