I want to begin with Sam Serio who owns and runs the event, fantastic guy always smiling and keeping sure our experience as a vendors is the best. He has great experience as a vendor and now running shows.  He is also part of the Jury, and according to the products exhibited, he is doing a great job.

For the clients is a small fee of $5,00 admission, it is a large tourist which normally come to the Island to spent money and they love this event, they come to the event to buy and enjoy the music and of course the great Blueberry deserts.

The location " Chincoteague community center" has both indoor and outdoor booths.  We were outside in a 10x10 location, however it is in a grass the place is well keep it.

The Vendors, well selected, friendly, smiling people and always with great attitude to help and support each other.

It was a great event and the sales were great to good.

  • Folks.. You can not judge this show based upon 1 guy who has responded to every single posting and comment. He may have had a great show, has a personal relationship with Sam Serio, or whatever. This show is hit or miss for some folks, most folks didn't do quite well. The hotel you stay in for the show the Roadway in, is 1 step above a roach motel. Its 119 or 125 depending on the year, and the beds sag in the middle, the rooms smell damp, and the parking is almost always full. The show however does get quite a bit of people, but 4000 or 6000 or more like Mr. Serio says. Judging a show based upon foot traffic is useless especially when the foot traffic doesn't buy. This is a walker and looker show. Not a buyer show. Many of the vendors this year left after day 2. Mr. Serio doesn't treat all vendors with much respect. He openly yelled at the guy he hired to do maintenance, and then embarrassed us in front of a whole crowd of people. Thats who he is though a rile up an argument and drag it in to the public so he looks good and you look bad. He doesn't care about vendors, he yelled that in front of multiple vendors. He doesn't promise exclusivity. He will accept a vendor who sells the exacct same items as you. Can you compete with that? He sold power to 5 people for 1 outlet this year. Then refused to have conversations with those who paid and couldn't get power For the first time in my life have I ever had a promoter actually blatelnly embarrass us, scream at us in public and then throw money at us to leave. He doesn't like that you talk about your bad sales days with any vendors. and the vendors at this show are gossips. This show is a mini high school experience. Spend your money elsewhere.

  • I agree Sam is such helpful person he is always checking to see if things are going well.  The Blueberry Festival at Chincoteague surpasses last year’s expectation.  It was so much better when the cars for the venders were out of the way for the customers.  Even though there was difficulty for some of us to get back to the center, Sam arranged for volunteers to move our cars for us and we were able to hitch rides with other venders to the parking lot. The crowds and the weather were great.  Sam and his crew were so helpful and organized they even had volunteers to help us get lunch so we did not have to leave our booth.  Thank you for such a well-organized event.
