Call for Artists, Making Money at Juried Art Fairs, Craft Shows and Festivals

When one of our active members shows up in my news feed I need to share it.

Carrie Jacobson was in Norwalk, CT, at the Norwalk Arts Festival -- and they chose her for the article:

Rain Can't Dampen Spirits at the Norwalk Art Festival

AND -- after last weekend's heavy rains around the Midwest here is an excellent article, with lots of good photos about the Crosby Festival of the Arts in Toledo:

Awesome Carrie...!

Carol and I had the pleasure of meeting Carrie when we were set up next to her at the convention center in Mississippi just outside Memphis for the "Home is where The Art Is" show. Carrie has some great work.

We are flying to Mystic, CT to visit some family in August and the Mystic Art Festival will be taking place while we will be there. We will be there to check it out ...but probably wishing we were in it.

Has anyone participated in Mystic Art Festival before?

I love the Mystic Art Festival.  I will be exhibiting there in space 135, Bank parking lot on Water Street. Stop by and say hello.

Stephanie...We certainly will...been to Mystic numerous times but never at festival time. My wife grew up in New London and it is always an enjoyable trip to go there

Connie, thanks so much for posting the photo! I love being in the paper, but wish it had included some little bit of information about me... like my NAME. Sigh. Barrie, Chritina and Greg, thanks for the congrats! It was great to meet Greg in Memphis. He had excellent stuff, and it was a real pleasure to have him as a neighbor.

I've done the Mystic Outdoor Art Festival for years, and have had some very good shows there. I'll be at the corner of Willow and Main, I believe, and would love to see Greg and Carol and any other AFIers!

Glad to hear Sunday was good. Had to pack in the rain Saturday evening, our tent collapsed. All of our work was ok, but was unable to do the show Sunday. This is the first time in thirty plus years this has happened to us. Must say the volunteers were very helpful in helping us pack in a very bad circumstance, we are very grateful that none of our work was lost. Still not sure exactly what happened it almost looked like someone backed into the rear legs of our tent, oh well this is just speculation, had fifty pound weights on each corner and they never failed us in storms a lot worse than this one. We are grateful.
