  • It sounds like a repeat of last year's event minus the damaging storm we had!

  • I did the Crown Valley Winery Father's Day Art Fair 2012.  There were only about 20 artists there.  The event was not advertised, so the only visitors to the Fair had come to the winery and we happened to be there.  The winery is on back country roads such that you have to want to be there to find it.  We probably had only 40 visitors for the two day weekend.  All of the artists were upset by the lack of support from the promotor, Larry Weinles, who was not there the entire weekend.  Many artists left early.  I am not aware of any artist who plans to return to this show.  I do not recommend this Fair to any artis.

  • So, even without the storm, sounds like this show was a bust. Guess I won't apply for this year.

  • Gabriela, I hope your things survived! I had packed all my product into my car at the end of Saturday and just left my fixtures and tent, so everything was fine - except the tent, which looked like a bunch of toothpicks when I got there on Sunday. A lot of my display is attached to the tent, so it made it difficult to show anything without it.  That, and the fact that there really weren't many shoppers made it easy to call it quits.  We toured the winery while things dried out and had a leisurely drive back to Lenexa.
  • Hi Marci!

I was booth #24, I am sorry we didn't meet! I hope all your art survived this horrible weather. The artist next to me, I believe her name was Kay, also had Fiber, some of it got wet, but was able to dry her pieces and stayed the rest of the day. I just couldn't do it.

  • 301639963?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024I was also at Crown Valley.  It was a beautiful place, but the only people shopping on Saturday seemed to be other artists. I think every tent at this show was damaged by the overnight storm. I also left on Sunday after cleaning up and drying out.
  • This weather pattern also hit Leawood, KS, with bad storms...Here is a video: http://www.kmbc.com/video/28283503/detail.html

Kansas, Missouri -- what happened in Kentucky this weekend...did this bad weather hit you also?

  • 301639374?profile=RESIZE_480x480We had a nice day Saturday, but very few customers. Not many people seemed interested in the Art Fair, they were there to drink and have a good time. We were hoping we would get more customers on Sunday, but were shocked at the scene of tornado like weather devastation. See pictures. Many artists decided to stay and set up near the covered entrance to the winery, but there was not enough space for everyone. We decided to leave.

  • Hi Ladies!

I will be at the Crown Valley Art Fair, I don't know howit will be, but I am taking the risk since I have heard nothing but great reviews about Larry Weinles. If nothing else, we'll have a great time in a beautiful setting!
